Job Description :
Your role as piping designer will be to:

• Prepare plans, specifications and other technical documents in various fields.
• Provide quality services and maintain positive relationships with internal clients by contributing to various projects related to piping design for projects in the mining, oil, chemicals and biofuels or energy sectors.
• Design piping, 3D modelling and generate isometric drawings or other deliverables as part of piping mandates for the industry. You will also use 3D scanning technology and the point clouds that are generated.
• Actively participate in seeking innovative solutions.
• Perform other technical functions to help deliver projects.
• Help coordinate and develop deadlines, budgets and project monitoring.
• Plan, organize and control project-specific criteria or standards.
• Ensure resources are appropriate for assigned mandates.
• Determine costs and quantities in accordance with client needs.
• Assess client satisfaction and maintain close relations with clients.

Requirements :
• Diploma of college studies in mechanical engineering or another relevant program
• At least five years of relevant experience
• Experience in the mining and metals or heavy industrial sectors
• Have strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, SmartPlant, CADWorx, SolidWorx and Navisworks
• Excellent command of CAD
• Excellent knowledge of current software, such as MS Office suite, databases and interfaces
• Asset: Bilingual (English and French)
