Job Description :
Position based in our Vancouver office

Our offices in Western Canada, currently at 125 employees, are growing and need your expertise. Reporting to the Executive Director, Human Resources, the incumbent will be based in Vancouver and will be responsible for applying corporate human resource processes and programs developed at head office in the Greater Montréal area for clientele in Western Canada (Vancouver, Terrace, Calgary and Edmonton).

Our Vancouver office is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver, minutes from the seawall and the Burrard SkyTrain station. Also, employees have free access to an on-site gym and bike locker room.

To do this, the incumbent will be supported by a colleague in the Western region as well as colleagues from head office, where he or she will be required to travel regularly to familiarize him or herself with current practices and then to collaborate on HR projects. The incumbent will also serve as HR expert and talent acquisition advisor for clientele at our Western Canada offices, which will contribute significantly to the fulfillment of client business plans. He/she will provide practical, strategic support to share his/her expertise in recruiting, management, organizational development, employee relations, total compensation, performance management, and the creation and implementation of HR initiatives and programs by working closely with other HR professionals in the organization.


Talent Acquisition component:


Take charge of the entire recruiting process, from job posting to the hiring proposal.
Develop traditional and innovative candidate sourcing strategies. Your sourcing colleague will support you in seeking out candidates.
Maintain a network of active and passive candidates.
Perform screening interviews by telephone and/or video and promote career prospects at BBA.
Plan and perform structured interviews with managers.
Coordinate pre-employment verifications with our external supplier.
Present job offers to candidates
Promote BBA on social media, networking events, career days and job fairs.
Maximize the use of our LinkedIn licences.
Serve as ambassador for the quality of the candidate experience.
Regularly collaborate with the national talent acquisition team.
Rigorously apply the recruiting process.


HRBP component

Have an in-depth understanding of client goals and business challenges in order to play a key role in achieving their business plans.
Help identify strategic HR initiatives to support client strategic plans.
Responsible for translating discipline business challenges into concrete and measurable HR actions.
Help develop a structured process and implement activities to ensure talent attraction, retention, engagement and development as well as succession planning.
Work on assigned HR projects affecting the entire firm.
Support and promote HR programs and processes in the areas of HR management and best business practices for the firm, and be responsible for implementing a range of initiatives in assigned disciplines in cooperation with managers.
Train, coach and advise assigned clients on HR challenges and best practices, employee relations, succession planning, engagement, integration, retention, compensation and mobility.
Support managers in managing individuals and foster the development of their personnel management skills.
Take action to solve complex problems and suggest proactive approaches as well as potential solutions to management issues in assigned disciplines.

Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, HR management or business administration (with a specialization in HR management) and designation as Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR)
From 8 to 10 years of experience as a general HR advisor or HR Business Partner, with a strong recruiting component
Experience and interest in recruiting for technical professional positions
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Ability and interest in collaborating with HR colleagues who are based in other offices across Canada
Experience designing, developing and implementing HR business solutions for a wide range of clients and ability to achieve business goals by proposing novel approaches, policies and procedures to foster continuous improvement and HR development
Ability to establish a quality-oriented partnership and work as a team member with internal clients
Highly organized, structured and autonomous approach with a proven ability to work in a matrix organization
Advanced computer skills, particularly with MS Office
Ability to work and thrive in multicultural work environment
Solution-oriented attitude, readiness to evolve in a dynamic matrix environment that requires conclusive results
Ability to adopt a client-based approach (internally) and to tactfully manage sensitive situations
