Job Description :
As a mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for working as part of a team of around 12 EITs, engineers and designers to support deliverables for numerous projects varying from hydroelectric plant design (i.e. penstocks, hydraulics, balance of plant, etc) to heavy industrial plant design (i.e. process, HVAC, piping, etc) and mining processing plant design.

Your role as a Mechanical Engineer will be to participate in engineering projects, from front end-studies through field implementation. As part of a team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of professional services provided and maintaining good working relationships with clients.

In joining our team, you will be asked to:

• Participate in small to major projects both new projects as well as improvement or refurbishment
• Perform calculations and technical studies
• Prepare deliverables for projects (i.e. drawings and specifications) under supervision of senior engineers
• Occasionally coordinate the work of draftspersons or others
• Write technical documents, in compliance with codes, standards, drawings and other established methods, while meeting the company’s quality system requirements:
• Technical analysis
• Studies and Reports
o Specifications for supplies or equipment
o Construction work documents
o Be actively involved at project sites
o Gather information
o Construction review and coordination
• Perform site visits to carry out inspections, quality checks and to witness testing.

Requirements :
• Proficiency in Technical Writing
• Understanding of design codes: ASME, CSA, API, BC Building Code etc
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in consulting
• Member of EGBC or qualified to become one
• Asset: experience in hydro, BOP, and/or turbine generator
• Experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial, energy or mining sectors
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite and other applications as well as databases and interfaces
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, TRACE 700, AFT Fathom, CAESAR II, ANSYS
• Available for short-term assignments (mandatory) and long-term assignments (asset) to client sites.
• Valid driver’s license from a Canadian province and the ability to travel and to do site work up to 80% depending on mandates
• Knowledge of project management and quality system procedures and directives
