Job Description :
BBA has an opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineering Co-op Student in the Vancouver office engineering team. This role is highly technical and is aligned with BBA’s reputation as engineers who can solve the client’s tougher problems and find more creative solutions. You will be responsible for supporting the engineers and designers in preparation of excavation designs, dam and powerhouse general arrangements, finished and rough grade designs, and surface drainage designs.

Other responsibilities will include:
• Applying established calculation and design methods.
• Receiving theoretical and practical training on the various work phases in line with his knowledge from formal courses.
• Taking part to preparation of reports, specifications, estimates, tenders.
• Providing assistance for routine inspections or technical surveys.
• Giving support to the engineer or technician for performance testing or commissioning.
• Providing assistance for on site work supervision.
• Providing assistance to engineers, designers and technicians in performing tasks requiring accuracy in both calculations and data collection.
• Respecting recommended working methods.
• Understanding, mastering, and applying the profession's practice guideline.
Work Schedule :
37.5 hours/week

Requirements :
• Enrolled in a Civil Engineering program
• Eligible to work in Canada as a full-time employee (37.5hr/week)
• Good academic grades
• Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and writing)
• Asset: Ability to communicate in French
• Some background in specialized software considered as a valuable asset: AutoCAD, Autodesk CIVIL 3D, Revit, Inventor, SAP2000, SAFI, MathCAD, ANSYS
• Past experience in civil structure and hydro projects considered as a valuable asset.
